Somali Football: Fixtures, Results and Team Form

Which competition is being played?

Club fixtures, national-team matches and regional tournaments have different opponents and squads. CAF lists the Somali Football Federation as its member association for Somalia. Check the competition name and date when following a fixture shared on social media. A friendly result should be kept separate from a league record.

Kick-off times and schedule changes

Check the organiser’s latest notice for the venue and kick-off time. Save the time zone as well as the time, especially when following a match from abroad. A postponed fixture may still appear in old graphics and search results. If announcements conflict, check the date of each notice before making plans.

Home and away form

Compare recent results alongside the opponents and venues. Three wins against lower-placed teams at home tell a different story from three wins away against title contenders. Red cards and confirmed line-up changes also matter. When team news is missing, the score alone cannot explain a tactical change or a player’s absence.

From domestic to continental football

Continental fixtures add travel and, in knockout rounds, the score from another leg. A team protecting an aggregate lead may approach a match differently from a team chasing league points. Our CAF Champions League guide covers group standings and two-leg ties.

Questions and answers

Where should I check a changed kick-off time?

Check the latest dated notice from the organiser or relevant football authority.

Should friendlies count as league form?

Keep them separate: squads, opponents and competitive stakes can differ.

How should I compare two teams’ recent results?

Use the same competition and a similar number of matches. Note the opponents, venues and any games still to be played.

Does a league table tell the whole story?

No. Teams may have played different numbers of matches. Read points alongside games played and the fixture list.
